There is a place for everyone in this process. Some people get their energy working with those who are resistant and walking them through a slow process of awakening. I think the trick is to know what gives you energy and follow that. There are people all along the spectrum of awakening and we each have a role to fulfill in relation to our own and others engagement. Our task is to know ourselves and find what is the right action for us –that is what I believe alleviates the sense of overwhelm that comes when any of us thinks we need to do it all.

For me the process of finding my voice and speaking up has required a combination of insight, courage, humility, and compassion. Insight: I remember one day Foster came in the room really flustered and said, “How do I tell people their hair is on fire without freaking them out?!?” My reply was: “First you say, look at this great bowl of water you have right here, and by the way, your hair is on fire.” We actually used that as the template for how to tell the story of THRIVE and for our conversations now. People need to know that there is something we can do – and are doing – about the dangerous consolidation of power in order to be open to the information and to be leveraged in their solutions. I believe each of us takes in information in direct proportion to how empowered we feel to respond effectively to it.

The motivation to vaccinate is born out of the most powerful impulse I know — to protect and care for our children. So the question is will vaccination protect your child from a deadly illness? Clearly many children seem to do fine after they are vaccinated and many illnesses no longer pose the threat they once did. However, it’s also true that vaccines are known to illicit a variety of negative responses, from fever related seizures [1], to regressive forms of autism [2] and even instant death (as in this case from India in 2010). [3]

I believe we are at an unprecedented crossroads in the world of cancer. People are beginning to wake up to the brutal corruption of the medical establishment like they are to the crime of our economic system. But it is a slow process with trillions of dollars on the line. The people who control the pharmaceutical companies and their funding and research also control our education and media – which in turn impacts what we learn and how we are directed to feel about it.
